Amazing food and amazing customer service! I used to drive an hour for a good spot like this, but I'm so glad there's one in Davis. The customer service is unmatched; it's family owned and I can't think of the last time I experienced such great service! We ordered a poke bowl and wrap. The portion size of the bowl can feed two so when I ordered, I had plenty to go:). If I had to choose between the bowl or wrap though, I'd go for the wrap. The wraps are SO good! We went during rush hour and still got our food within 5 minutes. Definitely will be back ag
I would say my favorite poke place of all time! Big portions. Delicious flavors. Affordable prices. I rarely get poke, but glad I stumbled here on my trip at Davis. Didn't get to eat in since my friends picked it up for me, but would recommend coming here!
Good service and good food, and a lot in each bowl! I've been here 3 times and will continue to come back. My friend got the mango avocado veggie bowl and said it was very filling and flavors were good. I got the poke bowl with salmon bomb and furikake bomb ahi, with the kali toppings -- such a good flavor combo!
Craving some Poke in the area, we came across Good Friends Hawaiian Poke and decided to give it a try. Located in the edge of downtown Davis, the restaurant entrance is in a quiet corner with plenty of parking along the nearby streets. Upon walking in you are greeted with plenty of seating and a nice themed interior with a low key ambiance. The customer service was great, with bright smiles quick service. They offer a large amount of protein choices, but we went with their Salmon Bomb and Furikake Bomb Ahi Poke Bowl. We got the order almost immediately, and were blown away with the yummy flavor and how fresh it all tasted, with a perfect amount of spice to it. We felt the portions were definitely worth the price, but were bummed that it didn't already come with toppings and wish we ordered some. However, even on its own the fresh fish stood its ground. Overall Good Friends Hawaiian Poke is definitely a place we will crave and return to in the near future!
Good Friends Hawaiian Poke is one of my favorite places to eat in Davis. While on the pricier end of order-at-the-counter style restaurants (~$20) their poke bowls are so large, delicious, and worth every penny! SERVICE: If you've never been to Good Friends or you're a regular wanting to switch up your order, be sure to ask for a sample of their poke styles! FOOD: I always will order a poke bowl Delilah style (which comes with imitation crab, seaweed salad, mangos, cucumbers, edamame, wonton chips, and sauces). If you don't like one of the toppings, you can swap it out for another topping (for example, I say no cucumber but just ask for extra seaweed salad... my boyfriend says no wonton chips and asks for more edamame). They're super flexible! Typically I'll get a spring mix/brown rice base and get 2 of any of the following: salmon bomb, california salmon, sweet oyster ahi, furikake bomb ahi. You also can't go wrong with a musubi. My personal favorite is the spam egg musubi but I've also had the spam egg unagi which is great as well! I had a sushirito once but their poke bowls are the star of their menu for sure. AMBIANCE: Seating is open. I typically dine in and there is enough room even on busy nights since there are large high top tables. The bowls they serve in can easily be taken to go.
A staple in Davis for good quality poke! They have different variations of food, whether it's a poke bowl, sushi wrap, rice bowl, musubi, and more. The workers are readily available to assist with your order and can help you sample any of the 12 flavors of poke they have on display. I ordered the Delilah's Style bowl with California Salmon and Salmon Bomb, and I was not disappointed! The Salmon Bomb was more on the sweet side and the California Salmon had a little tangy taste to it but balanced with the sweet poke. The wonton crisps were nice and crunchy, I recommend putting it to the side when eating, to avoid it getting soggy. The bowl is easily shareable with another person, but if you're very hungry then it can be finished by one person. The restaurant is accommodating for both families and college students, so it's very casual. When it's a busy day it's harder to find a seat, but people don't really take too long when eating there. There's also a TV that can keep people entertained especially when there's a sports game going on as well. It's easily a recommended place to eat at in Davis by my friends and I
Great poke place in Davis. Poke bowls, poke wraps, rice bowls and more... Fresh quality ingredients and value for your money. Quick fast service with a friendly attitude. Nice clean inside with tables to enjoy your lunch or dinner. Would highly recommend.
This review is long overdue as I've been going to this poke shop for a while now. This has always been a must-get every time I come to Davis. The selection of poke here is very large as there is so much to choose from. Cali Salmon (5/5): This is my favorite poke because of how creamy it was. The mayo was super flavorful. Furikake Tuna (5/5): This was super fresh and sweet. I will definitely be coming back every time I go to Davis
Came here with some friends, but I'm not a poke person--I'm an unagi person! The unagi sushi wrap was tasty and fresh. It gets a little messy as the wrap gets eaten but I didn't mind have a unagi rice bowl at the end LOL. The place is clean, the music is good, and the service is fast & friendly! Would come again!
This is my first review for Good Friends even though I've been here dozens of times! This is hands down my favorite poke restaurant I've been to. The fish is always fresh and deliciously seasoned, and the portions are pretty big! You can get a traditional poke bowl with rice and 2 choices of fish, or you can add on a "style" that includes various toppings like seaweed salad, avocado, wonton chips, etc. You can also order a poke bowl with a salad base (lower calorie/carb option!) instead of rice, or even half salad and half rice, which is what I usually get. I love the California salmon and Furikake Bomb Ahi the most, but I've tried almost all their flavors and every single one is good. Service is always efficient and friendly, and the ambiance is casual. There are many tables inside as well as some outside, and each table has utensils, napkins, etc. for your convenience. I noticed during my recent visit that there were vases with fresh roses on each table, which was a nice touch! Good Friends has never let me down, and I have so many fond memories of eating here with my boyfriend and my friends during college. I recently visited Davis and came here for dinner, and it's as amazing as I remember!!
